Yoga and Special needs
Yoga can be practiced by everyone, regardless of conditions, flexibility, strength, physical and mental health, etc.
Since 2017, I work with the Charity Mind Wycombe, and offer yoga classes for adults with mental health issues. Mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year. They range from common problems, such as depression and anxiety, to rarer problems such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Yoga can help with those problems, specially bringing relaxation and peace of mind to people who need it most.
I also completed a training to bring yoga to children with special needs with Special Yoga UK. Special Yoga’s methodology includes the classical yoga practices of movement, breathing, deep relaxation combined with sound, rhythm, massage and sensory integration techniques. I aim to adapt yoga practice to each individual and work with adults and children with special needs .
